Energize ECI was established in 2005 to collaborate with corporate, public, foundation, educational and institutional efforts to foster economic development in the East Central region. A key area of emphasis for Energize ECI is the marketing of the advantages and resources of the nine-county region to corporate decision makers around the world. The regional group is governed by a 36 member Board of Directors made up of local economic development organizations and regional representatives.

The Energize ECI region is comprised of Blackford, Delaware, Fayette, Grant, Henry, Jay, Madison, Randolph and Rush counties.

The primary activities and programs undertaken by Energize ECI include: Job Creation, Business Retention, New Business Attraction, Indiana Economic Development Corporation Sales Trips, Regional Branding Initiatives, Marketing Initiatives, Strategic Planning, Regional Research, Website Management, Newsletter Publication, Communications, Annual Reports, E-News Briefs. Energize ECI representation is also prevalent within many national, state and local economic development organizations with the specific intent of increasing visibility and knowledge about the region.
